Birkhäuser Architectural
Guide Switzerland 20th century.
In the 20th century, Switzerland has been subject to manifold architectural
developments which have been closely linked to international tendencies.
A fundamental goal of this guide, published in a series, is to provide
a picture of the different regions and epochs, and also to record
the numerous stylistic streams and representations. The guide offers
an overview of the most important buildings in 20th-century Switzerland.
Arranged by the 26 Swiss cantons and half-cantons, it introduces more
than 800 buildings in some 460 articles. The text also includes an
article by Roman Hollenstein which presents the most recent developments.
The guide includes an extensive addendum with indices of architects,
buildings and locations. |
