University City is worldwide known for its collection of modern art. Villanueva managed to gather leading artists from Venezuela and the rest of the world and developed his theories about the integration between art and architecture. It is in the complex of the Covered Plaza that this integration works more seamlessly. From the free standing inhabitants (Arp), to the directional murals (Vasarely), to the fantastic grouping of clouds (Calder) that serve as sound control devices inside of the main auditorium. |
